Arbore Tribe - Omo Valley Ethiopia - 2019

The Arbore live in Southern Ethiopia - in arid, flat areas near Lake Chew Bahir. Like many other tribes of the Omo Valley, cattle and goats are crucial to their way of life and source of wealth. Arbore girls and married women wear many strands of unique beads and metal earrings and bracelets. Unmarried girls shave their heads and cover with a piece of cloth to protect the head from the hot sun. An Arbore man can marry up to four women; after marriage the new wife adopts the name of the beloved cattle of her husband.
